Mediabilling

MediaBilling Inventory allows to maintain the bank of information on hardware devices, employed in operator's network. The module makes it possible to control operator's network equipment through the centralized administrative web-interface and manage specific technical parameters of provided services directly a ports of devices:

• enabling and disabling access to services;
• modification of technical properties of services (e. g. shape rating);
• service quality control;
• local traffic accounting;
• DHCP Option 82 (if the billing system is integrated with a DHCP compatible server): assignment of IP addresses according to the system settings (in particular, according to properties of account entries);
• “binding” of account entries to particular ports of network devices;
• “binding” of subscriber's IP addresses to his/her hardware;
• applying of 802.1x mechanism instead of VPN access control: technically the VPN mechanism only allows to permit or forbid connection, whereas 802.1x allows to partially restrict access, e. g. to forbid the Internet access to a subscriber but permit the access to a guest VLAN when the subscriber has a debt;
• real-time monitoring of hardware activity and on-line diagnostic of devices immediately on subscribers demand;
• automated recording and keeping information on hardware utilization and vacant capacity of the network.
